discharge and skilled service termination appeals
Kepro, your Beneficiary and Family Centered Care Quality Improvement Organization (BFCC-QIO), can help you when you have questions about if you are ready for discharge from a hospital or if your skilled services are ending at a rehabilitation facility, home health agency, or hospice.
You may file an appeal with the QIO if you feel that you are not ready to leave the hospital or if your skilled services are ending too soon.

quality of care concerns
Kepro can review a quality of care concern that you or your family may have about the care that you received from your hospital, doctor, or others. This is called a medical record review. You may contact the QIO to file a complaint, and your medical record will be reviewed by one of our physicians. We will see if you received the appropriate care for your condition.

immediate advocacy
If you are on Medicare, you can call Kepro and ask about Immediate Advocacy. During this process, Kepro can listen to and address the concerns you or your family have about health care you received. When a complaint is not appropriate for a medical record review, but there are valid concerns related to the quality of care, the QIO can contact the provider on your behalf and advocate regarding your concerns.
